Bell Summe Vineyard is ideally located in Forestville in the heart of the famous Russian River Valley AVA in beautiful Sonoma County, California. The site has 30 acres total, with 15 acres planted to vines (13 acres of Pinot Noir and 2 acres of Chardonnay). Pinot Noir clones are Calera, Pommard, Swan, 667, D115, and BV5 (a rare clone that we farm by hand). Chardonnay clones are Montrachet and Wente. Rootstocks are 420A and 3309. Our vineyard is solely focused on growing high quality grapes to be sold to respected winemakers.
Prior to being planted in 2020, our land was used as a horse and cattle ranch by a family who had owned it for over 100 years. Our idyllic hillside site is mostly southern facing with famed Goldridge soil, abundant daily sunshine, and cool, foggy nights. The vines are planted with 7’x4’ spacing and an anticipated highly selective production of 2-3 tons per acre. Our commitment is first to quality, and we take a long-term perspective, which has driven every decision we have made since the inception of the vineyard. Respected and experienced partners and consultants help ensure Bell Summe Vineyard grapes are the highest quality.
