In addition to our Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, our winegrowers love taking a cool-climate appraoch to growing many other classic grape varieties including Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and others.




Over 70% of the wine grapes grown in the Russian River Valley are from two varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Why? To put it simply, the region was made for growing these two cool-climate varieties…and the proof is in the glass.

Representing about 42% of the grapes harvested in the Russian River Valley, Chardonnay remains one of the most popular wines in the U.S. and around the world.
Approximately 29% of the grapes harvested in the region are Pinot Noir, and many local wineries pride themselves on being world-class producers of this special varietal.
The Russian River Valley is an incredibly diverse AVA, growing many excellent cool-climate varieties. From Zinfandel to Merlot and even Cabernet Sauvignon, these wines provides a counter-style to the same varietals grown in hotter regions.
